Guy Fieri is not letting his restaurant go down without a fight.
Fieri’s New York City restaurant, “Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar,” was given a heinous review in the The New York Times, E! News reports. Now the restaurant owner has fired back to Today Show Samantha Guthrie, calling the review “overboard” and that it “seemed like there was another agenda.”
He states, “I just thought it was ridiculous. I mean, I've read reviews. There's good and bad in the restaurant business. But that, to me, went so overboard, it really seemed like there was another agenda. The tone, the sarcasm, the question style."
Among the statements made in the review include, “Guy Fieri, have you eaten at your new restaurant in Times Square?" “Did you eat the food? Did it live up to your expectations?" "When you have a second, Mr. Fieri, would you see what happened to the black bean and roasted squash soup we ordered?" as well as, “Hey, did you try that blue drink, the one that glows like nuclear waste? The watermelon margarita? Any idea why it tastes like some combination of radiator fluid and formaldehyde?”
Guthri believes that the writer, Pete Wells, was out to garner some sort of publicity for his piece and that’s why he slammed his restaurant.
Still Fieri maintains, "I stand by my food and I stand by my team. We'll continue to do great."
