In efforts to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy’s fury, HBO and NBC Universal are joining together to present a live benefit concert, titled Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together, including performances by some big name vocalists.
Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen are scheduled to lend their voices to the one-hour special, which will take place at NBC’s New York City studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and all proceeds from the live telethon will be donated to the American Red Cross, who is fighting to provide shelter, food and emotion relief to the affected areas of the East Coast.
According to Us Weekly, late night funny man Jimmy Fallon and NBC News’ Brian Williams will make appearances during the airing, while The Today Show’s Matt Lauer will host the event.
The benefit will air during the previously scheduled filming of The Girl and will be followed by a recent episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel at 9 p.m.
Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together will air Friday, November 2 at 8/9c p.m. on several channels within the NBC Universal family, including Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA. You can also catch via live-stream on NBC.com.
