Exactly a month from tonight, fans everywhere will get to take an Unexpected Journey back to Middle Earth for the first of The Hobbit films, and now we have the full soundtrack to dissect and listen to over and over again before we make the return journey.
Empire has the whole score available for your listening pleasure, with the first track called "My Dear Frodo."
If you are like me and were only in your pre-teens when the first trilogy came out, the overwhelming sense of nostalgia takes over as you the score has callbacks to that of the first trilogy, mostly the Shire scenes in The Fellowship of the Ring.
Cinema Blend points out that you cannot skip from track to track or rewind so be wary, if you start listening, you are in for the long haul.
Howard Shore has returned to compose the score for the film, just as he did for the original trilogy.
Shore won three Oscars for his work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, two for the scores of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King, and for the song Into the West, which played over the credits of the final film.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey comes nine years after the trilogy capped off with The Return of the King in 2003. It will be released December 14.
