Jamie Spears discusses court decision of Sam Lufti case

By Jon Hall,

After having a judge dismiss the case brought against Britney Spears' parents by ex-manager Sam Lufti on Thursday, her father, Jamie Spears, has discussed his feelings on the case.

"I'm just so relieved that this is over with. That our family can finally put this behind us and move forward. I am so proud of each lawyer that represented our family in this. They were so prepared. They were ready. They stood behind us and I'm just so proud of each one of them that handled each one of these cases. I'm also very proud of and also very thankful for the judicial system and the judge.

It took her a lot of patience and took a lot of time to listen to all that was said and I want to thank her so much for the decision that she made and she made it upon the evidence and she made it upon the law and I believe justice was served," Mr. Spears told Entertainment Tonight.

According to Fox News, a judge dismissed the case mid-trial on Thursday. Confidante and manager Sam Lufti was originally targeting the pop singer's parents for both libel and breach of contract.

Although most of the case focused on Britney's public meltdown that resulted in the singer shaving her own head over four years ago, the judge ruled Thursday that Lufti's legal team simply did not have enough evidence to back up any of the allegations they had made.

Now that the case has finally been resolved, the Spears family can relax, at least partially. Britney is now a judge on Fox's singing competition X Factor.
