Actress Jennifer Lawrence thinks that according to the standards of Hollywood, she is considered obese.
Today.com reports that Lawrence faced criticism by people who thought that she was too curvy for the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games.
Lawrence said, "I've never really dieted or wanted to diet, or anything, and I just feel like, it's something that really overwhelms our industry in an unfortunate way. It just kind of becomes this distracting dark cloud."
She said she does not want girls to become obsessed and skip meals just to look like the fictional character Katniss. She finds the way of the tabloids to be very disturbing.
"I grew up with tabloids and seeing it on TV, and who's losing this much weight, how to lose this weight this fast, and it's just … it's kind of gross," she said. "And I'm just ready for it to stop."
According to the Huffington Post, she said she does not pay any attention to the tabloids and critics and said she is not going to choose her career over her health.
“I eat like a caveman, I’ll be the only actress who doesn’t have anorexia rumors," Lawrence said in Elle magazine. “In Hollywood, I’m obese. I’m considered a fat actress; I’m Val Kilmer in that one picture on the beach.”
