'Jersey Shore' cast to host Sandy fundraiser, Snooki tweets for donations

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy there has been enormous fundraising events to aid those ravaged by the storm. The cast of The Jersey Shore will connect to host a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy relief.

According to TV Guide, the fundraiser is set to air on MTV later this month. The MTV reality TV show The Jersey Shore was filmed in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. This area was in the evacuation zone and was one of the hardest hit areas.

The fundraiser is named Restore the Shore and will be taped at MTV studios in Times Square, New York. The event will be raising money to benefit the restoration of the Seaside Heights Boardwalk which was featured on the tv show. The money raised will also go to helping rebuild homes in the neighborhood and local businesses.

Jersey Shore cast member Snooki has been helping spread the word about donating supplies. She tweeted to followers Monday morning, “Help donate cleanin supplies,gloves,brooms,batteries,flashlights 2 help people rebuild their homes on SI u can drop them off@ 401 Guyon ave.”

Entertainment Weekly reports that there will be many celebs attending the fundraiser to help encourage viewers to donate to the cause. The fundraiser will air Nov. 15 at 11pm EST on MTV.
