Jon Bon Jovi breaks silence on daughter's reported heroin overdose: 'Things happen'

By Gina DiFalco,

Jon Bon Jovi has broken his silence on the arrest and alleged overdose of his 19-year-old daughter, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, in an interview on Tuesday.

Stephanie was found unresponsive in her dorm room recently after a reported heroin overdose. The drug charges for having heroin and marijuana have since been dropped.

The Bon Jovi front man told Fox 411 about the situation "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don't take it too seriously it's a great way to make a living," he said. "And then life goes on. Things happen."

He added "This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good.”

Stephanie is the rocker’s only daughter with wife Dorothea Hurley. She’s also the oldest of their four children.

Bon Jovi just announced upcoming tour dates for their Because We Can tour, which launches Feb. 9.
