Kelly Preston is speaking out about her son Jett’s tragic 2009 death on an episode of The Doctors.
According to E! News, Kelly spoke about her 16-year-old son’s death where she discussed his various health issues which included everything from seizures to Kawasaki disease.
“Do not believe a lot of the things you read…[Jett] was autistic. He had seizures, and when he was very young, he had Kawasaki syndrome,” she explains. Continuing, she notes that she believes that the combination of autism and seizures led to the death of her son after he seized in the shower and hit his head.
Kelly also notes that Jett never lived a disease-free life, getting Kawasaki disease from her “fast and hard” labor to getting “thrush” from antibiotics that were in her system while breast feeding. She has since become an advocate for fresh, organic, chemical-free foods, as she believes chemical additives in foods attribute to the many diseases plaguing children these days.
"I strongly believe as a mother, as does my husband, that there are certain contributing factors that lead to autism and some of it is very much the chemicals in our environment and in our food," she states as reported by People.
Kelly’s episode on The Doctors will air November 21.
