Kim Kardashian apologizes for tweets on Israeli-Palestinian conflict

By Daniel S Levine,

Enough of Kim Kardashian's Twitter followers did not like her comments on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine that the reality star was forced to delete them. She later wrote an apology to her fans on her blog.

Twitchy reports that on Friday, Kardashian tweeted, “Praying for everyone in Israel.”

That immediately sparked insults and even death threats from her 16.6 million followers. According to Fox News, one wrote “Die in hell” and another added that they “lost all respect for her.” Others called her “disgusting” and a “disgrace to her people.”

In an attempt to try to clean up her mess, she later wrote, “And praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!”

Now those tweets are gone. In their place is a link to her blog, where she explained why she took down the tweets. She also apologized for offending anyone.

“I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize,” she wrote. “I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didnt choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution. I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires.”

The tweets came as tensions in the region have reached a new high point, with rockets being fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel this week. According to CNN Israel has put tanks and troops at the Gaza border Saturday, after rockets hit Jerusalem on Friday.
