Lil Wayne plans to retire from music and move on to sports (Video)

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Lil’ Wayne fans need to get their rapper fix fast as the singer/songwriter is retiring from the music industry and moving into the world of sports.

“I know y'all want me around for a little bit, [but] Carter V is my last album," Wayne explained to MTV. "Man, I've been rappin' since I was 8 years old. I'm 30 now, man. That's a long time, man…When I love to do something, I'm fully focused on it and it only. And music sometimes is not that 'it'."

Now that Wayne is done with music, he hopes to submerge himself in the world of skateboarding as a sports analyst. “My day job will probably be sports analyst and I’ll skate all night instead of being in the studio all night.”

Thus far, MTV reports that Wayne has provided a handful of skate parks in New Orleans as well as creating his own skating brand TRUKFIT.
