Lindsay Lohan appeared on Good Morning America on Friday, where she promoted her upcoming Lifetime film Liz and Dick.
Lohan plays the iconic Elizabeth Taylor in the film, which airs on Nov. 25.
She talked to Amy Robach about the film, saying, “It's always nerve-wracking to place someone that's such an incredible force. ... I was kind of nervous to see what people would think of it.”
Robach pointed out the similarities in the two women’s lives, saying that Taylor's life “was out of control at times. And to be honest, so has yours.”
She then asked “Do you think that your life and career may have been different - would have been different - without the constant scrutiny?" USA Today reports.
“Um, obviously yes, to a certain extent,” Lohan answered. “ But I think that everyone goes through things in life. I like to learn from my mistakes. But I wouldn't be who I am today if I hadn't gone through certain things. And everything happens for a reason, good or bad. So you can just, you know, take what you've learned from it and move forward."
Although she and her mom recently got into a blowout fight, Lohan says she stays grounded much like Taylor did. "I'm pretty much the same. My mom and my siblings,” she said.
But as for her famous dad, Michael Lohan, who recently found out he had fathered a child when he was still married to Lindsay’s mom Dina, Robach telling her was the first she heard of her new half sister.
"I didn't even hear that, so thanks for the news. I don't pay attention to any of it."
