The Liz & Dick premiere was Tuesday night, which meant that Lindsay Lohan would be around to get plenty of questions.
E! News asked the troubled star if she could respond to the harsh things critics had been saying about the Lifetime made-for-TV movie, in which she plays the legendary Elizabeth Taylor.
“I haven't really heard any harsh things thus far, and I'm going to keep it that way,” she said.
Lohan made it clear that no matter what some critic has to say, she’s happy with her performance.
“I really worked hard on this. I put all of my heart and soul into it, so I hope that that shows through,” she said. “I hope Elizabeth Taylor, up from above, is admiring the work I did on her behalf.”
Producer Larry A. Thompson also praised Lohan’s performance in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I've worked with actresses whose behavior during production was less problematic, but I don't think I could have found a better actress to have played Elizabeth Taylor at this time,” he said.
Reviews for the film started coming out earlier this week and many critics took aim at Lohan’s performance and others slammed the script.
Liz & Dick airs on Sunday and also stars Grant Bowler as Richard Burton.
