Lindsay Lohan isn’t miffed by the negative criticism that her highly publicized upcoming movie, Liz & Dick is getting, saying that she “put her heart and soul into” this character.
"I really worked hard on this. I put all of my heart and soul into it, so I hope that that shows through," Lohan explained, as reported by E! News. "I hope Elizabeth Taylor, up from above, is admiring the work I did on her behalf."
Lohan, who is no stranger to controversy in her own personal life, from jewelry theft, car accidents and a recorded argument between her and mother Dina, Lohan finds playing the iconic Taylor relatable.
"People go through a lot of ups and downs in life. And I think that you can still stand strong and live through it."
Liz & Dick is set to hit the Lifetime network later this week, but critics were already fast to bash what is being called LiLo’s career comeback.
However, some critics aren’t impressed. “Lindsay Lohan is spectacularly bad,” blasts a critic from The Hollywood Reporter. “Lohan is woeful as Taylor from start to finish. But whatever you do, don’t miss Liz & Dick. It’s an instant classic of unintentional hilarity. Drinking games were made for movies like this.”
