Marvel's Kevin Feige named Motion Picture Showman of the Year

Producer and president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, will receive the Motion Picture Showman of the Year award at the ICG Publicists Guild Awards on February 22.

"Kevin Feige's understanding and appreciation of publicity and promotion in the role of a movie's success has led to a string of blockbuster feature films adapted from the pages of Marvel comic books during the past 10 years," Henri Bollinger, Publicists Guild Awards committee chairman, was quoted by the Chicago Tribune.

According to Deadline, Feige, who joined Marvel in 2000, oversees all creative aspects of Marvel Studio's feature film and home entertainment ventures.

His most recent work includes producing The Avengers, which caused the box office to explode in May with a three-day domestic box office record of $207.4 million, and he is currently producing Iron Man 3 set to be released on May 3, 2013.

Feige has plenty of projects coming up for Marvel in the next few years. He will be working on sequels like Thor: The Dark World set to be released on November 8, 2013 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier set to be released on April 4, 2014 as well as The Avengers sequel set to be released on May 1, 2015. Ant Man, scheduled to be released on November 6, 2015, and Guardians Of The Galaxy, scheduled to be released on August 1, 2014, are two more movies Feige will be producing, as reported by Yahoo News.
