Matthew McConaughey is donning a new look- one that probably won’t have women swooning.
Us Weekly published photos of the 42-year-old Magic Mike star looking extremely skeleton-like.
McConaughey, who is usually incredibly built and svelte, was photographed going through security at the Los Angeles International Airport. According to the report, the usually buff actor dropped pounds for his new role in the Jean-Marc Vallee directed film, Dallas Buyers Club- a film which is “loosely based” on the true-life tale of Ron Woodroof; a homophobic man addicted to drugs and women who was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in 1986.
McConaughey stars as Ron, opposite Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto.
According to Us Weekly, Ron became one of the first HIV activists and launched one of the first support group for those struggling with AIDS.
The Failure to Launch actor admitted that he was working hard to take on the look needed for this role, previously admitting in an interview that he was eating “small amounts.”
"I'll get down to the weight I need to get to," he said. "I'm on my way, and it's what I need to do for the job."
Adding, "I'm playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn't…For me, it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing."
