Matthew Perry is making his return to CBS’ acclaimed drama The Good Wife.
According to Deadline, the former Friends actor will appear in an episode that will air early next year. He will reprise the role he played during the two episodes near the end of last season.
Perry played Chicago attorney Mike Kresteva, who clashed with Julianna Margulies’ Alicia Florrick. Mike announced plans to run against Alicia’s husband, Peter (Chris Noth), for governor. Mike also appeared in the season premiere.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the series has had several major guest stars this season, including Christina Ricci, Kristin Chenoweth, Nathan Lane, Amanda Peet, Miriam Shor and Marc Warren.
Deadline notes that Perry said in the past that his role was originally created with plans to have him star in a nine to 10-episode arc, but those plans were scrapped when he was cast in NBC’s Go On. That freshmen comedy has been a success for NBC and was picked up for a full season.
The Good Wife airs on CBS on Sundays at 9pm. Go On airs on NBC on Tuesdays at 9pm.
