By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

It’s exactly what America needed after all of the political hoopla. On Sunday evening, Americans were reunited with the 1991 dance hit “2 Legit 2 Quit” as it was mashed up with 2012’s “Gangnam Style,” creating what can only be considered a worthwhile performance.

Psy reportedly took to the American Music Awards stage, performing his hit “Gangnam Style” as he danced across the stage with the star-studded audience joining in on the now-famous dance before the lights go dark, and MC Hammer takes the stage dancing “Hammer Time” –“Gangnam Style” along with Psy.

Justin Bieber was the big winner at the American Music Awards, nabbing the award for Best Pop/Rock album of the year and Artist of the Year, Hollywood Life reports.

Other winners include Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction, Reuters reports. The energy-filled crowd also saw performances from Usher, Kelly Clarkson, Stevie Wonder and Ke$ha.
