Michelle Obama stuns in election night fashion

By Mallory Hatten,

The First Lady of the United States looked happy and relieved Tuesday night as she stood by her husband and returning president, Barack Obama. But aside from the drama and anticipation of the evening, Michelle’s stunning, glitzy election night ensemble got the crowd talking, as it was a dress she’s worn twice before.

Us Weekly reports that the 48-year-old mom of two – daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11 – wore a silk magenta Michael Kors dress, which hit just below the knee and shimmered in the lights on stage.

The First Lady paired the frock with a black, three-quarter-sleeve cardigan, black pumps and a pink House of Lavande vintage brooch.

According to People, Michelle had worn the dress twice before.

And while she’s certainly recycled outfits before, many wondered why she chose to do so on one of the biggest nights in history.

A source said of Michelle’s fashion choice, “She was so busy with the campaign and their kids that she had no time to think about an outfit and decided at the last minute.”

The designer was more thrilled, however, releasing a statement to ABC, which read, “Kors is pleased to announce that the First Lady, Michelle Obama, wore a Michael Kors magenta silk chine pin tucked dress.”

Whatever her reasoning or history of wear, Mrs. Obama looked breathtaking as always.
