'Modern Family' casts Sofia Vergara's family for upcoming episode

It looks like the family is coming in for the new baby, as Elizabeth Pena and Stephanie Beatriz will be coming to ABC’s Modern Family as Gloria’s family.

UPI reports that Pena will play the character’s mother while Beatriz will play her sister.

“There’s a bit of a competitive relationship between Gloria and her sister that will be fun. The mother is the formidable, domineering character in the family, and has a complicated relationship with Jay,” Christopher Lloyd, executive producer of the show told Entertainment Weekly.

The episode is titled Fulgencio, and will start shooting Monday. It will be the 12th episode overall in the season.

The fourth season will also feature such guest stars as Matthew Broderick, Jason Mantzoukas and returner Shelley Long.

Gloria was revealed to be pregnant in the third season finale last spring. Since then it has been a major plot on the show’s current season.

Modern Family airs Wednesday’s at 9 p.m. on ABC.
