One Direction is about to get super sized on the big screen by one of the most popular names in documentary filmmaking, Morgan Spurlock.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Super Size Me director is taking a break from his more satirical style of filmmaking to give fans another big 3D concert film to flock to starring One Direction, five young British men who have a knack for telling people how little they know about their beauty.
“This is an incredible opportunity and an amazing moment in time for the band. To capture this journey and share it with audiences around the world will be an epic undertaking that I am proud to be a part of,” Spurlock said.
The popularity of 3D concert films have been growing among the pop scene as Justin Bieber and Katy Perry have also made it to the big screen with a fair amount of success.
Spurlock’s most recent film was a documentary about male grooming called Mansome, ironic considering One Direction appear to be experts based on their fanbase.
IGN says that the film will likely hit theaters in August 2013.
