NBC releases 'Save the Date' for Tina Fey's character Liz Lemon's wedding on '30 Rock'

By Gina DiFalco,

NBC has announced a spoiler in the 30 Rock storyline, that Tina Fey’s character Liz Lemon will marry Chris Chross, played by James Marsden.

A fake “Save the Date” has been released by the network, with a wedding announcement.

E! Online reports that it reads "Miss Elizabeth Miervaldis Lemon presents herself to be married to Mr. Crisstopher Rick Chross on Thursday the 29 of November, 2012, at eight/seven central in the evening.”

Of course, some humor needed to be added, with the announcement continuing “But not in a creepy way that perpetuates the idea that brides and virgins are virgins and women are property. She's 42. Whatever. It's no big whoop. Bring your own snacks."

30 Rock will end its run in the beginning of next year, The AP reports.

A recurring story line in the series, which also stars Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy and Tracy Morgan as Tracy Jordan, is Lemon’s unlucky-in-love love life.

Donaghy didn’t approve of Lemon’s soon-to-be husband from the start, telling her character "Lemon, I have said 'Good God' to you before," he huffed, "but I don't think I've ever MEANT it until now: Good God!!!"

30 Rock airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
