The New York Knicks winning streak ended

By Jassum Gloster,

For the first time since 1993-94 season, the New York Knicks were 6-0. In 1993, they won their first seven games and were able to reach the NBA Finals.

The current Knicks team and fans can hope for the same results.

The Knicks have had wins against very good teams, like last season’s NBA champion’s Miami Heat, and wins against expected teams, like the Orlando Magic. This Knicks team is well balanced with a big man in Tyson Chandler, three point shooters like J.R. Smith, and a closer like superstar Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 105-95. According to The Associated Press, after beating the Knicks, the Grizzlies now have the best record in the league for the first time in franchise history.

The Knicks were playing very hard, but in the third quarter, it slowly started to slip away from them. The referees called a few technical fouls after emotions started flaring. It was a very intense game, on one said there was a team trying to remain undefeated, and another team who wanted to get the league’s best record as well.

In an interview after the game, NY Post, reported that Mike Woodson, the Knicks head coach said, “we didn’t want to see it end, but it did,” coach Mike Woodson said. “We [have] got to start a new streak.’’
