Pau Gasol fighting through tendinitis

By Jassum Gloster,

Pau Gasol, All-star forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, has tendinitis in both knees. He has been playing through this injury and it has been affecting his performance thus far during the season.

Gasol has been wearing straps on his knees to help prevent further injury. According to ESPN, the tendinitis is worse in his left knee than the right. There were reports that former head coach Mike Brown’s long practices could have worn on Gasol’s knees.

Gasol is coming off of an excellent summer playing in the Olympics for Spain. This injury has clearly taken a toll, for instance, Gasol is facing career-low numbers in points per game with only 13.4 and shooting accuracy of less than 44 percent.

In a recent interview Sporting News, Gasol said, "it's a little limiting, but it is what it is. There's not much I can do about it."
