During a weekend event at Britain’s Dumfries House in honor of Prince Charles' 64th birthday, the royal heir to the throne made an interesting statement, which led people to believe that Charles is a bit impatient to take over Queen Elizabeth’s job.
People reports that the Prince, who passed his great-great grandfather, Edward VII, as the longest-waiting heir in all of Britain’s history, told the crowd, “Impatient? Me? What a think to suggest! Yes, of course I am. I’ll run out of time soon I shall have snuffed it if I’m not careful.”
But Charles was only kidding.
According to NBC News, the comments were taken a bit out of context by British tabloids, as the royal heir was talking about the restoration of the Dumfries House, which he has hopes of renovating for future use of the royal family.
Interestingly enough, a survey taken by citizens of the country showed that Charles’ popularity is less than Kate Middleton’s and his two sons, Prince Harry and Prince William.
