It seems Justin Bieber may have some YouTube competition coming as the heart-throb once hit song “Baby” is being beaten out by Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”
Reuters reports that “Gangnam Style” beat out “Baby” Saturday after receiving 800,000 hits.
The song which has garnered several parodies and wide-spread love was first posted to YouTube in July. Psy, who is a native from South Korea, is gaining more fame in the United States than he ever did in his home country.
According to Reuters, YouTube posted a blog post about Psy’s newly held position saying, “It's been a massive hit at a global level unlike anything we've ever seen before.” “Gangnam Style” success skyrocketed in just four months to take the number one spot, compared to the two years it took Biebers “Baby.”
Along with holding the most views, “Gangnam Style” has also taken the record for most video “likes” at 5.3 million likes and 323,00 0 dislikes compared to Bieber’s “Baby” which holds 1.4 million likes and 3.1 million dislikes, Billboard reports.
