After several run-ins with the law, Randy Travis has put his days of drinking behind him.
Larry Friedman, the country star’s attorney, has stated that the 53-year-old, who has been arrested twice and hospitalized this year for alcohol-related reasons, is quitting drinking altogether.
“He has eliminated alcohol from his daily life,” Friedman told TMZ.
He continued “[Randy] works out 3 hours every day and is in the best shape of his life,” adding, “He has a high protein diet and takes a lot of vitamins.”
Not only is he in amazing shape, but Friedman says that Travis is also getting back into music. His lawyer said that he was back in the studio in Texas last week experimenting with new music.
The Daily Mail reports that Travis was arrested in August after getting into a drunken fight outside of a church in Texas. He was cited for simple assault for getting in between a couple’s fight. Earlier in that same month, he was found intoxicated and naked in a car after an accident.
Even before that, he was arrested for public intoxication in February.
