Following the beef that stemmed from Shyne’s criticism of Kendrick Lamar’s debut album as trash, Game released an a cappella freestyle on the snowy streets of Brooklyn, N.Y. It didn’t take long for Shyne to reply with his own freestyle all the way from Paris, France.
A couple of weeks ago, TheCelebrityCafe.com reported on the backlash Shyne encountered after calling Kendrick Lamar’s album good kid, m.A.A.d city “trash.” Game was the most vocal in expressing his discontent with Shyne’s review.
After serving a 10-year sentence in prison, Shyne’s legal status was reviewed and the courts found he was never naturalized in the United States so he was deported to Belize and has not been allowed entry into the United States because of his criminal history. Game took this as an opportunity to record a freestyle on Shyne’s old stomping grounds.
The video was released this past Saturday and it features Game wearing a necklace that has its own necklace with a hoodie as he boasts about his attire, reminds Shyne about his gangster credentials and reminds him that he cannot enter the country. The video also reminds viewers that his upcoming album, Jesus Piece, releases on December 11.
Watch his “Cough Up a Lung” freestyle below.
It only took two days for Shyne to respond to Game’s insults with a freestyle of his own. MTV shared the freestyle that features lines that were meant to hurt, such as "This little busta named Game wanna rhyme like Po/ Cause I rhyme like gold, I rhyme like I be climbin’ out that Rolls/ The Nine I’ll let it blow, put five up in your clothes/ Head shots leave ya slumped, dumped, reclining at ya door, oh." Watch the video below.
Certainly both freestyles would make a third grader run to the cubby room hide behind coats and jackets to cry a river, but who do you think had the better freestyle?
