Rihanna defends not spending time with journalists on 777 tour: 'Sometimes you just wish you could give more'

By Gina DiFalco,

Rihanna started somewhat of a media uproar on her 777 tour, when she visited seven countries in seven days and brought along 200 people for the ride, including journalists and fans.

When the Barbados-born singer didn’t interact much with the journalists like they had hoped, they became somewhat of the story for going stir crazy and many tweeted specific details.

To give a good idea of the mayhem that ensued, Fuse magazine senior writer Jason Newman tweeted “Crowd chanted "Just one quote!," "I need a headline!" and "Occupy 777" while Aussie journo stripped naked and ran around the plane.'”

Now, Rihanna is defending herself, saying the lack of interaction with them was simply because she was “exhausted.”

“It was different having to do your job but also have 200 guests come along with you," she told Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw, Entertainmentwise reports.

“They all want you to host a party every time you get on the plane after a show but you really only have that time to sleep until you get to the next country,” she continued. “Sometimes it was a two-hour ride to the next country and that was all the sleep you would get."

"I knew I had seven countries and seven shows and I had to save my voice," she also said. "I didn't go crazy. I didn't party too hard. I did have fun though. I tried to get everybody involved but sometimes you just wish you could give more."
