Being awarded People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2012 requires attractiveness, but it also requires exposure. Channing Tatum recently nabbed the award from previous title-holder Bradley Cooper, but Tatum also shared what Cooper had in 2011 - an insane work schedule.
"Big actors have told me to get it while the getting is good. Grind it." the Sexiest Man Alive for 2012 told GQ. "You know, very successful, smart actors. And they were like: 'Grind it. If you love it, grind it.' I did. And a lot of people who didn't grind it, it's not that they're not in a good place, but I'm in a better place."
Grinding it also involves not sleeping, working out twice a day and shooting multiple movies in a short timespan. In addition to being in 21 Jump Street, The Vow, and Magic Mike, the actor is currently shooting three more movies.
According to GQ, Tatum is nearing completion of the action movie White House Down, which is about to wrap after two months of six-day weeks. If six-day weeks were not enough, Tatum also found time during filming to reshoot his role for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which is being converted to 3D. Oh, and once his Presidential action movie ends shooting, Tatum is starting Foxcatcher starring Steve Carrell and Mark Ruffalo, in less than a week.
During shooting White House Dawn, also starring Jamie Foxx, Tatum would meet with a trainer twice a day to workout in a modified trailer, skipping lunch to fit the training into his crazy work schedule. So how would a meal-skipping two-a-day workout Tatum feel?
"It was good, it was good. Deadlifted 425."
