The fiancé of soccer star and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Hope Solo, former NFL star Jerramy Stevens, was arrested early Monday for alleged assault against Solo.
In a shocking turn of events, the couple got married on Tuesday, the same day Stevens appeared in court for the domestic violence charges.
According to The New York Daily News, Solo, 31, and Stevens, 33, were at a party at Solo’s home on Monday night when Solo’s brother Marcus called 911 to report a fight.
He said that two or three men had started a fight at the party and that he had used a stun gun on one of the unknown men. Solo reportedly told her brother “Don’t tell them anything,” about the police when they arrived. Other intoxicated guests had refused to cooperate with police as well.
According to documents, however, Stevens “appeared to be hiding” upstairs when he was found lying between a bed and the wall on the floor. He admitted he got into an argument with his fiancé, whose elbow was hurt.
Although he was arrested for fourth-degree domestic assault, he wasn’t charged due to lack of evidence.
Solo and Stevens then got married on Tuesday, which was confirmed by U.S. national goalie Jillian Loyden, who tweeted "Happy to witness such an amazing celebration of real love.”
Sportsradio 950AM and 102.9FM host Dave Mahler also confirmed the wedding.
Solo and Stevens had been dating for two months before getting married.
