Syfy announced Thursday it is adding three new reality ghost related shows to its 2013 lineup: Ghost Mine, Stranded and Notorious Hauntings (working title).
Syfy’s three new shows will join the other Syfy paranormal reality shows, Ghost Hunters, Paranormal Witness and Haunted Collector.
Mark Stern, President of Original Content for Syfy states the shows will be familiar to fans of Syfy’s reality shows according to Examiner.
“Each of these series takes a known and successful formula and turns it on its head,” Stern said. “Whether it is eclectic gold miners in the midst of paranormal activity, paranormal enthusiasts self-documenting the most haunted locations in America, or investigators researching and examining history’s most notorious criminals and legends in the world’s most haunted locations, these shows celebrate imagination while further strengthening Syfy’s successful reality brand.”
Ghost Mine will focus on a mine in Oregon, which has been abandoned for 80 years and is said to be haunted. The show will have six hour-long episodes.
Stranded will have six hour-long episodes that focus on an experiment. Teams of three will be left in haunted areas in the U.S. and film their experiences. The show also has hidden camera’s recording the teams.
Notorious Hauntings will be a six episode show that shows a team of researchers investigate strange paranormal activity around the world.
Syfy also announced last week a show about robots called Robot Combat League as we previously reported . The show will be similar to the movie Real Steel, in which robots fight each other. The show will begin airing February 26, 2013.
Ghost Mine premiers Wednesday, January 16 at 10 p.m. ET. Stranded will debut Wednesday, February 27 at 10 p.m. ET. Notorious Hauntings will premiere sometime in the spring.
