‘Two and a Half Men’ matches season high ratings despite Angus T. Jones controversy

By Daniel S Levine,

It turns out that people still like to watch what Angus T. Jones calls “filth.” Despite what the actor said in the controversial video that went viral this week, Two and a Half Men’s Thursday episode tied its previous season high ratings last night. That helped CBS earn a commanding win.

CBS easily won the night with 13.39 million viewers and a 3.3 18-49 rating rating, notes HitFix. The Big Bang Theory had another huge night, drawing 17.15 million viewers and 5.4 18-49 rating, while Two and a Half Men had 13.81 million viewers and a 4.1 18-49 rating. That was the same as its last new show and matched its season best rating, so Jones’ comments didn’t make viewers change their mind. Person of Interest followed with 14.33 million viewers and a 2.9 18-49 rating, while Elementary ended the night with 10.36 million viewers and a 2.2 key demo rating.

Fox came in second with just over 7 million viewers and a 2.5 18-49 rating. The X Factor had 8.23 million viewers and a 2.7 18-49 rating, while Glee had 5.8 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in the key demo. While X Factor took a hit, Glee was up 47 percent from its last new show, notes THR.

ABC was in third with 6.86 million viewers and a 2.1 18-49 rating. The now-cancelled Last Resort had 5.2 million viewers and a 1.0 18-49 rating. Grey’s Anatomy followed with 8.7 million viewers and a 3.0 18-49 rating. Scandal finished the night with 6.67 million viewers and a 2.2 18-49 rating.

There was little good news for NBC, which averaged just 3.4 million viewers and a 1.2 18-49 rating. EW notes that 30 Rock was the only show to go up, drawing 3.61 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating. Up All Night had just under 3 million viewers and a 1.2 18-49 rating, while The Office had just 3.89 million viewers and a 1.9 18-49 rating. Parks And Recreation had just over 3 million viewers and a 1.4 key demo rating. Rock Center managed 3.44 million viewers and a 0.9 18-49 rating.

The CW’s numbers were slightly up thanks to NFL coverage in Atlanta. Vampire Diaries had 3.2 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating and Beauty & The Beast had 2.15 million and a 0.8 rating.
