U.S. Women's Gymnastics team talk about their ‘Dancing with the Stars’ experience

By Meaghan Fleming,

Members of the Fierce Five U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team, McKayla Maroney, Gabrielle Douglas and Kyla Ross talked about their appearance on Dancing with the Stars, and said if they would like to go on the show in the future.

The Fierce Five talked to US Weekly about their experience helping fellow Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson in a dance routine on the show.

Maroney tells US the experience was "so much different than what we're used to, because we're used to competing for ourselves."

"Now we're under the pressure of trying to do really well for Shawn and Derek [Hough] because we're rooting for them and want them to win!” she exclaimed. “We were all really nervous, but we held it together and got a perfect 10."

Douglas said Johnson told the team to try and have fun performing and to do their best.

Both Maroney and Douglas said they would love to do Dancing with the Stars, while Ross said “Maybe,” and stated she enjoyed her time on the show.

"It would just be an amazing experience," Maroney said and Douglas agreed.

"I love the dynamic and being paired with a partner, having so much fun behind the scenes and backstage . . . so why not?" Douglas said.

Both Maroney and Douglas have guest starred on TV shows. Maroney appeared on the CW show Hart of Dixie and said she would like to act again as we previously reported.

Douglas will appear on CW’s The Vampire Diaries episode Thursday November 29 at 8 p.m. ET.
