Aguilera is blossoming, One Direction keeps moving up and more...

Though Hurricane Sandy was a few weeks ago, its devastating impact is still being felt by so many. The music world has thankfully been stepping up to show their support.

In December, at Madison Square Garden in NYC, legends Paul McCartney and Springsteen will join The Who, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys and others in a Hurricane Sandy benefit concert.

In another altruistic effort, Dave Matthews Band is donating all proceeds from a NJ concert to Sandy relief. Carrie Underwood is also donating the proceeds from her Atlantic City Concert to Hurricane relief.

In new albums:

The popular boy band One Direction released their new album Take Me Home.

Their album is expected to have a huge Billboard debut, but this week Taylor Swift is still on top.

Christina Aguilera released her album Lotus, which is a reflection of her experiences.

In order to promote her album, she will be taking a break from The Voice along with Green but offered advice for Shakira and Usher who are taking their place.

After 16 years, Soundgarden has returned with their new album King Animal. The first track is “Been Away for Too Long”. Though they have been away, fans can be happy they are back.

Susan Boyle is showing that she still has talent in her newest album Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs from the Stage, including songs like “Bring Him Home” and “This is the Moment.”

Green Day released the second album in their trio Dos!. The final album Tre will be released on December 11th.

Also this week, Lana Del Ray who gained attention with her first album Born to Die, released a mini album called Paradise.

Famous music artists like Katy Perry and Billy Joel are fighting Pandora over compensation.

Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez is working on her new album which will be released in March.

Rihanna began her 777 tour in Mexico City on November 14th. She is taking on 7 countries in 7 days to celebrate her 7th album.

With the holidays fast approaching, artists are already announcing their plans for New Year’s Eve.

Taylor Swift will be the main event for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve.

Meanwhile, Coldplay and Jay-Z will be performing together in Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center this New Year’s Eve.
