It was previously reported that Pushing Daisies writer Bryan Fuller wrote the initial draft, but Warner Brothers may not have been completely pleased because now Jane Goldman is being hired to write the Pinocchio remake.
The Hollywood Reporter explains that Goldman is negotiating with Warner Brother to work on the script for the project that expects Tim Burton to direct and Robert Downey Jr. to star in.
Although Downey and Burton have not officially committed to the project Collider reveals that Goldman would incorporate Downey’s notes in her rewrite of the script. Downey has also verbally expressed his interest in working with Tim Burton in upcoming project.
Collider also explains that in this remake Downey Jr. would play the woodcarver that makes Pinocchio Geppetto. He faces a journey to get Pinocchio back when he goes missing.
At the Brazilian premiere of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in Rio De Janeiro Downey responded, “I want to talk to him about it, yeah! C’mon, it’s Tim Burton” when asked if there was any truth to him working on the Pinocchio film with Tim Burton.
