A verdict has been reached in the custody case for Modern Family actress Ariel Winter. The 14-year-old actress will remain with her sister, while her father, Glenn Workman, was named temporary guardian of his daughter’s estate.
As we previously reported, the custody case kicked off Wednesday, December 12, with both Winter, her older sister and current guardian Shanelle Gray, and Workman in attendance.
People reports that Winter will remain with Gray until the court see’s the case again in March. Adds Winter’s older brother Jimmy, “It looks like the court is going to order therapy and counseling to help keep us together as a family… Everything's holding off and everyone's going to counseling.”
Lawyers for both sides worked diligently to come to an agreement Wednesday afternoon.
Judge Michael Levanas reportedly said, "I believe things are going to get better. I'm thrilled we're taking that first step."
According to the report, Department of Children and Family Services found evidence of emotional abuse which attributed to the judge’s decision.
