Ariel Winter has been going through a tough time recently, having been in the temporary custody of her older sister while her mother faced losing guardianship of her following abuse claims.
A settlement has been reached as of today outside of court, which now sees the Modern Family star’s father, Glenn Workman as in control of her money.
TMZ reports that Winter will remain in the custody of her older sister, Shanelle Grey, and the court has cut their mom Chrystal out of everything.
According to Hollywoodlife, Winter has been under the care of her older sister since the beginning of October, when a judge ruled that Winter had been abused by her mother and it was unsafe for her to live under her care.
Her mother reportedly abused her due to “vile name calling, personal insults about [her and her weight], attempts to ‘sexualize’ a minor, deprivation of food, etc. for an extended period of time.”
Crystal has denied the abuse since the beginning. Another hearing will follow Wednesday’s settlement and by March, this could all be behind the family.
