The story with Modern Family actress Ariel Winter and her mother, Chrisoula Workman, continues to develop.
Workman is now filing a lawsuit against an associate of her older daughter named Matthew Borlenghi, who made a comment online that she was an "abusive monster.”
According to The Huffington Post, the comment was in a Nov. 9 Los Angeles Times article, and she claims it hurt her reputation. She is suing for defamation and false light.
Winter is currently under the custody of her older sister, Shanelle Gray, who left Workman when she was much younger. Borlenghi is an actor who teaches classes at Gray’s acting studio.
In the article, Borlenghi writes "The mother is grasping and clawing to find a way not to lose her money-maker, and hide the fact that she is an abusive monster. Having spent time with her...these accusations are disgusting, just as she is."
E! Online reports that Borlenghi hasn’t commented on the lawsuit, saying he hasn’t had a chance to see it yet.
On Wednesday, the custody trial will begin to determine where Winter will permanently live.
