A few scenes for Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake's new film, Runner, Runner, will be shot in Princeton today.
The film is about businessman Ivan Block, played by Affleck, who operates an offshore gambling business online. He eventually takes in Princeton graduate student Richie Furst, played by Justin Timberlake. Ivan takes Richie under his wing, making Richie his protégé.
The movie is directed by The Lincoln Lawyer's Brad Furman. and written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien.
Planet Princeton has confirmed that filming will take place at the Ivy Inn, PJ’s Pancake House, Mercer and Nassau Street. The paper also confirmed there will be no filming on the Princeton University campus.
The paper also acknowledged that notices from New Regency Productions went out to some residents and business owners yesterday informing them that their shops and neighborhood would become the backdrop for the some scenes in the new film.
The Associated Press reported that Mimi Omiecinski, owner of the Princeton Tour Company, learned about filming from a location scout who was looking for a room appropriate for a “colonial bedroom scene.” Omiecinski said that the scout began getting many offers from residents who wanted to offer their bedrooms for the film.
“They loved it because he got all those locations he wouldn’t have otherwise gotten,” Omiecinski said referring to the scout. “It is such a beautiful place.”
She added further that “It is kind of a classy place to film. Everybody keeps it pretty much under control … except for me.”
According to IMDB Anthony Mackie and Gemma Arterton are also to star in the film.The video below, shows some snap-shots of Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake on set in Puerto Rico:
As we previously reported, Admission was also recently filmed in Princeton. The film starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd which was filmed last summer.
