Jamie Foxx turns 45
Eric Morlon Bishop, known to most as Jamie Foxx was born December 13, 1967 in Terrell, Texas. Foxx was raised by his grandparents for most of his life. Growing up he participated in music and sports. Foxx received a scholarship to attend the U.S. International University in San Diego where he was first encouraged to try comedy.
Foxx sings, acts and has had a successful career as a comedian. He spent time in television as a cast member of In Living Color from 1991 until 1994. Foxx was given his own sitcom in 1996. During his television run, Foxx also took many movie roles. He had a notable role in the movie, Any Given Sunday as Willie Beamen. The movie also starred Al Pacino and Cameron Diaz.
In 2004, Jamie Foxx starred in Ray, a film about the life of the late musician Ray Charles. Though Foxx had shown his comedic skills throughout the years, he was also able to prove that he could tackle a serious role. He went on to win an Oscar the following year for his performance. Some of his other roles have included ones alongside Tom Cruise in Collateral, a dramatic role in The Soloist, Dreamgirls, Law Abiding Citizen and Valentine’s Day. Not only do Jamie Foxx and Taylor Swift share the same birthday, but they both had roles in Valentine’s Day, a movie that included a large ensemble cast full of familiar faces.
Jamie Foxx hosted the December 8 episode of Saturday Night Live. He will star in the title role of the upcoming film, Django Unchained. The movie was directed by Quentin Tarantino and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, Christopher Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson. Django Unchained is set for a December 25 release.
Taylor Swift turns 23
Wyomissing, Pennsylvania is birthplace to Taylor Alison Swift. She was born in 1989. By the age of twelve Swift had learned to play guitar and began writing songs. As a child she would sing at local venues. Swift’s budding talent brought her family to Tennessee. It was there they hoped to get her career started.
In 2006 Taylor Swift released the track, “Tim McGraw.” She released her debut album that same year. Her album produced many hits including "Our Song" and "Teardrops on My Guitar." Over 2 million copies of the album were sold. Swift’s success continued, and in 2008 she was nominated for a Grammy Award. She took home an award for Female Vocalist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. In 2009 she released her second album, Fearless. 2010 brought her third album, Speak Now.
That same year she appeared in Valentine’s Day with Foxx and many others. Swift’s latest album, Red was released in October of 2012. It includes current radio hit, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” As of late, Swift has been photographed with rumored boyfriend, Harry Styles of One Direction. Swift took to her twitter page to announce the release of her latest video for the single, "I Knew You Were Trouble" which debuts today.
