First he took off his shirt and made women swoon, then he took over the title of Sexiest Man Alive, but now Magic Mike actor Channing Tatum has announced that he will be taking a break from acting.
Tatum wants to take a break from acting to pursue his work in directing, E! News reports. Tatum is currently working side-by-side with Magic Mike screenwriter Reid Carolin.
The handsome actor talked about his future works with Entertainment Weekly. He explains, “[Reid and I] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we’re going to shut things down and write the first thing that we’re going to direct.”
“We’re going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let’s take a few and really get caring about that section of our career,” he adds.
Fans need not be heartbroken about Tatum’s future endeavors as the swoon-worthy actor will still appear in a handful of films in 2013, including G.I. Joe:Retaliation, Side Effects, White House Down andFoxcatcher.
He is also rumored to be filming a sequel to the comedic hit, 21 Jump Street.
