Last night’s winner Cassadee Pope wasn’t the only thing announced on The Voice last night. Judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green both are taking a hiatus from the show to pursue career opportunities.
“We've become a family," host Carson Daly said, according to MTV. "And we will greatly miss them. Trust me when I tell you that."
Aguilera and Green were joined by the two other judges, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, onstage to sing a cover of Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" before departing. While performing, a montage of the judges’ better moments played on the screen behind them.
But fans shouldn’t be worried about the future of The Voice. Singers Shakira and Usher are scheduled to replace Green and Aguilera. The two new judges join Shelton and Levine in a pickup truck in the reality competition’s promo for season four.
According to Mail Online, Levine and Shelton pick up the new judges from a hotel before driving around LA and arguing over what music to listen to. The song the judges finally settle on? Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
The Voice is scheduled to return March 25.
