Following her departure from The Voice, Christina Aguilera will be honored at the People’s Choice Award.
Aguilera will receive the title of People’s Voice due to her musical contributions as well as her ability to transcend genres and reach out to people.
The singer is also scheduled to perform at the Jan. 9 award show along with country singer Jason Aldean.
“I am thrilled to announce that Christina Aguilera is joining Jason Aldean as a performer at the People's Choice Awards," said executive producer Mark Burnett, according to MTV. "Christina is one of my dearest friends and lights up literally every stage she steps onto. And I am so glad that I get to work with the amazing Jason Aldean again. I cannot wait to see these performances live on show night!"
Entertainment Wise reported that Aguilera also was nominated for Favorite Celebrity Judge for her coaching gig on The Voice.
Adam Levine, a coach with Aguilera on the reality show, also will be present at the award show, and received the most nominations with six nods total. Other nominees include Justin Bieber, One Direction, Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence.
The People’s Choice Awards will air Jan. 9 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
