Homeland actress Claire Danes and her husband, actor Hugh Dancy, welcomed a baby boy on Monday.
Her rep confirmed to People Wednesday that Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy was born on Monday, Dec. 17.
According to AceShowBiz, the baby was born a little bit ahead of schedule, telling Anderson Cooper in September that the baby was due at the “beginning of next year.” She also decided not to let the public know about the sex of the baby. “It's important to keep a little something to ourselves because we're so public and stuff,” she said.
Danes’ Homeland co-star Mandy Patinkin was also excited about the new addition to the Homeland family. He told Celebuzz at a Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights event that he is going to spoil the baby. “But the biggest gift I want to give that baby is I want my wife and I to be on the A-list of babysitters,” he added.
Danes, 33, has won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for Homeland and recently received another Golden Globe nomination for her role as CIA agent Carrie Mathison. The show recently wrapped up its second season.
Dancy, 37, has starred in Black Hawk Down and King Arthur. He was recently cast as Special Agent Will Graham in NBC’s upcoming series Hannibal, which is set to air in 2013.
The couple were married in France in 2009.
