The CW's cancellation of 'Emily Owens MD' prompts fans to try to revive it

By Krista Alice Hornyak,

The recent cancellation of The CW network’s Emily Owens MD has dedicated fans making an effort to bring it back.

While Emily Owens may have been suffering in viewer ratings, it was certainly not because it was not a quality show. In fact, fans often lauded the medical drama for its real, refreshing, and relatable story lines.

On IMDB.com, they even rated the show a 6.5, placing it above average.

The problem, rather, was that not only did Owens’ timeslot pit it against important televised events such as the presidential debates and coverage of Hurricane Sandy, but the CW placed more emphasis on advertising their other dramas, Beauty and the Beast and Arrow (both of which had full seasons ordered).

The founders of ResuscitateEmilyOwens.com believe there is still a chance to revive the series, and hope that through fans coming together and the power of social media, they can accomplish that goal.

If you’d like to see the show back on the air, show your support! Sign their petition at ipetitions.com. Go on Twitter and Facebook and tell the CW you’d like to see the show have a full season, and include #ResuscitateEmilyOwens in your posts.
