Despite receiving her diploma as Topanga while filming Boy Meets World, Danielle Fishel is a college grad.
“I am officially a college graduate! I took my last two undergraduate finals today and I am so happy, relieved, and proud," Fishel wrote on her Tumblr. "Yeah, I'm super proud of myself. :)”
The actress revealed that graduating college had always been one of her goals, but despite a couple of attempts, was always too scared.
“I was too afraid of being the old lady in class, of being whispered about, and especially of not remembering how to do simple math equations," the actress explained. "After my 27th birthday, I made the decision to stop letting fear be a factor in fulfilling my dreams and living the life I wanted, so with a little encouragement from friends and family, I enrolled.”
The 31-year-old actress encouraged others to enroll, no matter what age or situation, and cited one major bonus that came while studying for her diploma: an engagement ring.
“I persevered and sometimes I wasn't the oldest person in class, some of the whisperers became good friends, and I did so well in math, I even became a tutor. And that is how I met my fiancé. :),” Fishel wrote.
Luckily the actress doesn’t have to be worried about the job hunt yet. Fishel is signed on to appear in the sequel series to Boy Meets World, focusing on the life of Topanga and Cory’s 13-year-old daughter Riley.
“When I think back about when we started Boy Meets World in '93, so almost 20 years ago, I was 12,” Fishel said according to E! Online. “The idea that I now get to see another young girl who is about the same age I was 20 years ago starting in her own career is really exciting.”
