David Letterman say down with Oprah Winfrey where he discussed his long running career as host of The Late Show with David Letterman as well as his alleged feud with The Tonight Show host Jay Leno.
E! News reports that Letterman sat down with Winfrey for an interview on Oprah: The Next Chapter.
According to E!, Letterman denied allegations that he and Leno had tension due to Letterman being passed over for the Tonight Show position.
“We were always friends before all of this happened," Letterman states.
He adds, "He has a way...he's an unusual fellow. I've never met anyone quite like Jay. And I will say—and I'm happy to say—that I think he is the funniest guy I've ever known. Just flat out, if you go to see him do his nightclub act, just the funniest, the smartest, a wonderful observationist and very appealing as a comic."
Letterman follows with a subtle dig at the host adding, "Therefore, the fact that he is also maybe the most insecure person I have ever known...I could never reconcile that."
The 65-year-old host also touches base on the sex scandal which surfaced back in 2009. Letterman discusses the allegations, the affair and repairing his relationship with wife Regina Lasko.
Letterman’s interview with Winfrey airs Jan. 6 on OWN.
