Demi Lovato promised her fans a musical Christmas present. On Christmas morning she gave them that gift.
The 20-year-old “Give Your Heart a Break” singer unveiled a new song, a cover of “Angels Among Us.” The song was a dedication to the families and victims of the December 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT.
“Thinking of the families in Newtown,” she tweeted along with a video. She had recorded the song early last week and promised her fans they’d get to hear it by Christmas. It was an extra special gift when she revealed it was in honor of the kids and adults lost in the school tragedy in Connecticut.
“We can never imagine what the families in Newtown, CT are experiencing right now,” it reads before the song begins. “And while there is nothing we can do to replace their loss, we can stand together and support them during this difficult time. This song is in honor of those angels we lost on December 14.”
