Drake's OVO imprint to merge with Warner Bros. Records, report says

By Gina DiFalco,

Drake’s label OVO has signed a deal that will see it link up with Warner Bros. Records.

A source has confirmed the upcoming partnership to Billboard, noting more details will soon be released.

As a solo artist, Drake is signed to Universal through Young Money/Cash Money. However, he’s also been associating himself with October’s Very Own Brand for a while with his producer Noah "40" Shebib.

He uses the blog to promote and premiere new music, sell clothing and eve named his annual summer festival, OVO Fest, after the label.

According to MTV News, this move will come after Drake’s friend Rick Ross merged his Maybach Music Group with Warner Bros, despite being signed to Def Jam.

Drake will continue to be a solo artist on Young Money/Cash Money with label-mates like Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. There isn’t any speculation yet over whether he will sign any up and coming artist to OVO yet.
