The Duchess of Cambridge made her first public appearance since she left the hospital, where she was treated for acute morning sickness.
According to The Associated Press, Kate was a presenter at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, which were held Sunday and aired throughout the country.
Kate, whose pregnancy was announced earlier this month, looked much better than she had when she left the King Edward VII hospital on Dec. 6 and wore a dark green dress. She returned to the palace for rest and kept out of the public eye. Last week, she was forced to cancel her appearance at the London Hobbit premiere, reported E! News.
Kate presented Sebastian Coe with the lifetime achievement award at the end of the ceremony. Coe was recently elected the new British Olympic Association chairman and is also a two-time Olympic medalist. She also presented Bradley Wiggins, the Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medalist, with the sportsman of the year award.
She is currently 12 weeks pregnant with her and Prince William’s first child.
This was also her first appearance since the tragic suicide of nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who was prank called by Australian DJs. The royal couple’s “...thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time,” the Palace said in a statement.
